Middle school is a challenging time for most people. Kids are bombarded daily by media messages and subtle (or not-so-subtle) social pressures. From Instagram and Snapchat to song lyrics and TV characters, our kids are soaking up messages about what it means to be a teenager and what they need to do to fit in. These pressures take up a lot of mental and emotional space that can impact school and personal development. If kids are so focused on who they are supposed to be, they don't have time to figure out who they are!

Rising is a group to support students as they navigate friendships, crushes, self-doubt, screens and self-esteem. Through discussion, journaling, crafts and games we will grow and learn and RISE together!
